A poem from the archives: Crystal Enlightenment

Mixed media painting on 20x16 inch canvas c by Jean Bourque 2008

CRYSTAL ENLIGHTENMENT
A poem by Jean Bourque c 1987

Crystal Enlightenment of fantasies forgotten
Previously vanished in a perilous sea
Abandoned by paranoia and calamities
Returning with an urgent vengeance
To awaken the dead, into a new vibrancy,
Acting in haste, no lethargic hesitation,
No reflections, just immediate response,
And the obsession takes it victim,
Into another realm of activity,
Until the bomb has exploded and exhaustion,
Has regained it's control, in the pause of time,
A new voice whispers: balance, balance, balance.

World Beer Fest Sat Jan 16 Columbia SC

Just found out about another event for this weekend that I had accidentally overlooked in my listings.

All About Beer Magazine, together with Green's Discount Beverages, will present hundreds of exceptional beers on Saturday, January 16, 2010, at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. A celebration of the world beer culture, The World Beer Festival will introduce thousands of attendees to today's exciting beer aesthetic, one based on community and tradition, quality and heritage. Attendees will sample from hundreds of beers from over 100 breweries of every scale and perspective. The food and entertainment choices will be grounded on local Columbia culture. The magazine staff will provide on-going, and usually packed, educational sessions on the aesthetics of beer. All About Beer Magazine has presented The World Beer Festival concept for over a decade in North Carolina and South Carolina. USA Today ranked the festival as one of the nation's Top 10 festivals, with Forbes.com and Wired Magazine also extolled the unique attraction of the event.Website:http://allaboutbeer.com/gather-for-beer/world-beer-festival/columbia-sc
