Call to Artists from The Artists Round Table

2nd Annual Spring N2 ART at the Keenan House

801 Wildwood Avenue, Columbia, SC

Saturday - April 3, 2010 from 12 - 6pm

Spring N2 ART at the Keenan House will offer a unique promotional and public relations opportunity for working artists, musicians, art organizations and related businesses seeking alternative marketing, media exposure and direct contact with potential customers, while providing a viable contribution to the arts and to the economic well-being of our community.

A.R.T. (Artists Round Table) provides opportunities for artists to connect, collaborate and engage with each other and the community, while educating the public on the importance of the arts in South Carolina. All artists, art organizations and businesses in Columbia and surrounding areas are encouraged to become involved with this A.R.T. event. If interested in volunteering your assistance for this event please contact A.R.T. through the website.

Application & Fee Deadline - Friday, March 12, 2010.

Notifications will be mailed or emailed by Monday, March 15th, 2010.

Fees for one 10’ x 10’ outside space: $50 for A.R.T. Members;

$65 for non-members.

Set up will begin at 10am and must be complete by 11:30am!

Artists and vendors must provide and be responsible for their own signage, banners, materials, tents, display racks, tables, chairs, etc.

This event is rain or shine.

Award:

$100 will be awarded to the artist voted "People's Choice" by the close of the event. Any businesses interested in sponsoring Artist awards may contact the Artists Round Table through their website.

Alicia Leeke Art Reception at Earth Fare tonight

an Art League that meets every first Tuesday of the month

This afternoon from 4:30 to 6:30
DIRECTIONS:
From downtown-Meeting St. is just over the bridge from Gervais St, go about two blocks from the bridge, past a church and Enchanted Forest Gallery will be on your Left.
From Northeast Columbia- Take I-77 into downtown dumping out on Bull St. go about a half mile or so, get in right lane to turn onto Elmwood. Follow Elmwood past McDonalds and Lizard Thicket, see turn off on Left for Huger St, just before Elmwood splits into I-26. Tkae that left onto Huger and go about 4 blocks plus or minus and you will see Gervais St. Take a right onto Gervais and follow across bridge into West Columbia, go 2 blocks and see enchanted Forest on Left.
From Harbison and Irmo area- Take Rt 26 East heading toward Charleston. When road splits you can go either way, use above directions if coming in from I26 exit onto Huger St. Or stay on Rt 26East until the Route 1 exit , be sure to take the West Columbia side which is the second part of the Rt 1 exit coming from that side. You will go about 3-4 miles and pass the West Columbia Library and Triangle City heading in toward downtown. After you pass 9th St. it is within a block and will be on your right coming from that side of town.

"Fill the Frames" A.R.T. Free on Sat. Nov. 17th


Frame Distribution Date - November 17th at 2965 N. Main St. Columbia, SC 9AM to 2PM
The Artist’s Round Table (A.R.T.) will again distribute picture frames through its Fill The Frames community outreach program on Saturday, November 17th. The frames will be free to midlands educators and non-profit organizations, with proper identification. The general public can make a donation to Harvest Hope and get frames too.
On Nov. 28th we will have an event with Harvest Hope Food Bank.

Christmas Sale and Social at ART Dec. 4th



First Annual Christmas Sale and Social

This event will start at 6pm and go until

ART members can show their work, sell their work or barter their art with other artists at this event. If you are interested in participating, you will be responsible for transporting and setting up your own art and bringing a table, easels or pedestals to do so. Everyone is asked to bring a food or a drink item for the event to contribute to the festivities. A.R.T. is an informal grassroots "resource" organization for all artists including visual, performing, and spoken word artists. The organization's goal is to provide leadership, funding and business expertise to artists and to connect them with arts organizations and businesses by offering a single resource of arts-related information to patrons and media. A.R.T. contributes to the economic development and quality of life in Richland and Lexington counties by promoting the arts as the foundation of the knowledge-based economy.

Artists Round Table meeting Tuesday Nov. 6th


The Artists Round Table will be meeting on Tuesday November 6th at 930 Richland St. Columbia, SC. The meeting begins at 7PM. We will be learning about art opportunities available in our community. Our group is a very diverse group of artists, we have singers, songwriters, photographers, poets, painters, batik, bookmakers, art bloggers, writers, actors, dancers, designers, sculptors, musicians, potters, clay and glass artists as well as jewelry, wood, furniture, metal and fiber artists. (I hope I didn't miss anything!)

Howard Hunt and Alicia Leeke have made a special request that all members please attend this month's very important meeting. We have a lot going on and a lot to share. If you are an artist or a supporter and had been thinking about joining, NOW is the time to join! Please attend our meeting as we are growing rapidly and we have so many activities and events planned, you won't want to miss out on anything!

Fill the Frames Saturday Oct 27, 2007

THE ARTIST’S ROUND TABLE TO DISTRIBUTE FREE FRAMES
Columbia, S.C- The Artist’s Round Table (A.R.T.) will distribute picture frames through its Fill The Frames program on Oct 27th. The frames will be free to educators and non-profits with proper id. The public can make a cash donation, with a $1.00 minimum to receive the frames. The frames were donated by Eagle Distribution and stored courtesy of local businessman Chris Barzack.

Free frames in Columbia SC yours for FREE

THE ARTIST’S ROUND TABLE TO DISTRIBUTE FREE FRAMES
October 19th & 20th, 2007

Columbia, S.C-The Artist’s Round Table (A.R.T.) will distribute picture frames through its Fill The Frames community outreach program on Friday, October 19th and Saturday, October 20th. The frames will be free to midlands educators and non-profit organizations, with proper identification. The general public can make a $1.00 minimum donation for two frames.
Every interested teacher and non-profit organization, with educator identification or non-profit tax ID number, can obtain frames for use in a school or organization. The general public can make a cash or check donation, with a $1.00 minimum, to receive frames. These frames range in size from 3"x5" to 10"x12" and are made of either wood, plastic or metal.
They were donated to the organization by Eagle Distribution and stored courtesy of local businessman Chris Barzack. "We are privileged to share these resources with the community," said Sandra Stewart, a member of A.R.T.’s Fill the Frames program. "This is a good opportunity for educators and other non-profits to supplement their materials for projects. And, it is a great example of how local business and art can support each other."

Frames will be available:
Friday, October 19th 12pm-5pm
Saturday, October 20th 9am-2pm

Columbia, SC

Recipients should bring bags and boxes to carry the frames.
Two hundred frame limit for teachers and non-profit organizations.

Fall N2 Art 2007 Design Competition

The Artist Roundtable (ART) in Columbia, South Carolina is pleased to present the 2007 Fall N2 Art Poster Design Competition. Artists are invited to submit their designs for the 2007 poster. The winning image will be reproduced on Fall N2 Art invitations, posters and publicity materials.

Fall N2 Art is a juried art festival held in Columbia, South Carolina September 21-23, 2007. The event is sponsored by the Artists Roundtable in conjunction with the Cultural Council of Richland and Lexington Counties and is open to artists 18 years of age and older.

Art Contest Entry Specifications Printable PDF Form

Entries due no later than: Thursday, May 31, 2007 5 p.m.

Requirements:

1.All media is acceptable; winning art to be reproduced in 4-color process.

2.Finished poster size is 18 x 24 (vertical). Art submitted should be scalable to fit these parameters. Do not submit text with your design.

3.Art should be submitted in electronic format on a CD or DVD (at 300 dpi for printing) along with a hard copy of your image printed in color on an 11 x 8.5 sheet of paper with the orientation in vertical format.

4.Entry fee $15 for submittal for up to 2 images. Please make checks payable to Artists Roundtable.

Awards:
The jury is looking for one dynamic image to represent the Fall N2 Art Festival as both a poster and invitation. Winner will receive a $100 cash award.
