Traditional Portrait Artists Wanted Columbia, SC

The Cultural Council is partnering with the Capital City Club on a Governors Portrait program. Please read the attached press release. The Club is seeking a “traditional” portrait artist to paint a work of 4 feet by seven feet plus/minus that will show the four SC Governors since 1988. Governors Beasley, Hodges, Sanford and Haley in a group setting most likely around a desk. The Club commissioned a large oil (artist name of Gorki –before my time) that depicted the 8 living ex-Governors at that time.
Interested artists should email me one (1) image that represents their portrait work plus a short bio. A Capital City Club jury will select 4-6 artists to visit the club, view the existing portrait, and discuss the project. The jury will then select one artist to complete the portrait.
